Situated on flat bogland. Excavation revealed a wooden trackway consisting of an irregular dump of brushwood resting on a layer of burnt stone and charcoal. A date of 1212 BC +/- 9yrs was obtained from a collapsed oak lying directly on top of the brushwood. (Stevens 1999, Killoran 235, 76-7) The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.
