Structure

A dispersed, irregular spread of six pieces of brushwood in the drain face (Wth 2.7m min.; D 0.38m) with further material in the vicinity. The site may be denser than it appears with some elements broken off. Most of the elements examined had evidence of toolmarks or branch-trimming. The site is in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with fibrous roots and occasional ericaceous remains. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
