Structure

A poorly preserved radially split plank (Wth 0.25m; D 0.12m min.) in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum. It was dendrochronologically dated to AD 816±9 or later (Q10139). Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
