Structure

A regular, compact deposit (Wth 1.74m; D 0.18m) of brushwood and twigs, with a roundwood at the base of the deposit. The main concentration of material (Wth 0.92m), contains a small bed of twigs. An isolated heavy brushwood, to the SW, extends the overall width of the site. The site is in well-humified Sphagnum peat with mineral inclusions. SMR OF010-161----, 10.8m to the NE. SMR OF010-298---- is 2.4m to the NE and SMR OF010-299---- underlies the SE extent. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
