Structure

A deposit (Wth 1.08m; D 0.18m) of irregularly laid mixed brushwood, occasional twigs and three possible stakes. The elements are unevenly spaced and up to two pieces deep. The stakes are isolated set at 60-90° angles. Woodworking is evidenced by a single chisel point. The site lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Calluna and fibrous roots. SMR OF010-269---- is 1.8m to the SW and SMR OF010-282---- is 1.7m to the NE. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
