Structure

A deposit (Wth 1.13m min.; D 0.52m) of light brushwood and occasional twigs. The uppermost portion of the site consists of densely packed brushwood, which is approximately parallel but the wood is dispersed and less regular towards the base of the deposit. Woodworking is evidenced by a metal-cut chisel point. The site lies in well-humified Sphagnum peat with fibrous roots. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
