Structure

A deposit of mixed brushwood and occasional twigs (Wth 3.8m; D 0.43m), which are irregularly laid and dispersed. The deposit varies in density and there appears to be three distinct clusters of material. Woodworking is evidenced by a single metal-cut chisel point. The site is in moderately to well-humified Sphagnum peat with natural wood roots. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
