Structure

A sparse deposit (L 1.07m min.; Wth 2.88m; D 0.26m min.) of light brushwood and two possible stakes. The deposit is irregularly laid and very dispersed. Woodworking is evidenced by a chisel point and by branch-trimming. The site is in poorly humified Sphagnum peat with Calluna, Eriophorum and fibrous roots. SMR OF010-272---- is approximately 0.26m below this site. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
