Structure

A tangentially split plank (L 0.23m min.; Wth 0.19m; D 0.05m). The plank is at the boundary between two peat strata, both composed of Sphagnum peat with fibrous roots. One is poorly humified and the other is moderately humified. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
