Structure

A deposit (L 1.15m min.; Wth 1.84m; D 0.38m) of light brushwood, twigs and a roundwood. The elements are widely spaced, up to four pieces deep, and predominantly parallel. Twigs occur throughout the site, with a distinct bed of twigs at the centre of the deposit. The wood is in poor condition and some pieces have been displaced. The site lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with occasional Eriophorum and fibrous roots. SMR OF010-222----, c. 8m to the SW, is similar in composition. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
