Structure

A large, dispersed deposit (Wth 1.8m; D 0.4m) of mixed brushwood and three light roundwoods. The wood is irregularly arranged and deepest at the NE extent of the site. It is in good condition and lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat. This is one of five closely situated sites along a 6m length of the drain including SMR OF010-198---- 0.18m above and SMR OF010-197---- partially overlying the site on its SW side. SMR OF010-200---- and SMR OF010-201---- are to the NE. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
