Structure

Eight pieces of irregularly laid, light brushwood (Wth 1m; D 0.34m), dispersed throughout three separate peat strata. The uppermost strata is poorly humified Sphagnum peat with ericaceous remains, beneath which is moderately humified Sphagnum peat with fibrous roots. The basal strata consists of moderately humified Sphagnum peat with fibrous roots and ericaceous remains. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
