Excavated (E3490) during 2005 by T. Breen as part of Site 26 at Raheenagurren West, which was one of the excavations undertaken in advance of the construction of the N11 Arklow-Gorey link-road. Situated in a low-lying, flood-prone area which had an ancient NW-SE water course (Wth c. 5.5m; D 0.6m) running through it. A core of burnt mound material (Feature 2) (dims. 4m x 3.32m; T 0.1m) overlay a rectangular trough (dims. 1.87m x 1.42m; D 0.3m) with vertical sides on the edge of the old stream. It may have had a wicker lining. Fulacht fia (WX012-034003-) is c. 15m to the W and fulacht fia (WX012-034005-) is immediately to the E. (Breen 2008a, 2008, 5.)
