What is recorded here

Crannog is an artificial island in a lake. People built crannogs to live on or keep things safe when land became dangerous or crowded. Drumacrittan Lough in Pottiagh, County Fermanagh, holds one such water-born house. The official name preserves the shape of the place even when the wooden stairs, hut walls and smoke have gone quiet under the lake.
