Indicated

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Indicated is a sub-triangular graveyard in County Louth, Ireland, wrapping a medieval church in a footprint no wider than thirty-three metres. No graveslabs break the soil, yet the shape and location suggest buried bodies rather than empty ground. The absence of markers does not mean absence of death; it means the names left no handle for later hands.
Sub-triangular shaped enclosure (map dims. max. 33m E-W; 26m N-S) around medieval church remains (LH019-009001-), most likely contains burials although no graveslabs recorded. Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 12 July 2012
