What is recorded here
Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Mullymucks, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a gentle NE-facing slope where an irregular grass platform measures 27.6m north-south and 21.5m east-west. A 1.3-1.8m scarp and rounded fosse define the perimeter, though quarrying has altered most of the edge. Only the northern section preserves the original 7.3m top width and 0.4m external depth.
On a gentle NE-facing slope. D 0.1m at S to 0.65m at W) which is preserved in its original condition only at N (Wth of top 7.3m; Wth of base 1.9m; ext. D 0.4m). There is an entrance ramp and causeway (Wth 2m) at SSE, and the fosse is largely filled in E-S (max. ext. dim. 41.7m N-S). Rath (RO039-012----) is c. 130m to the W.
