A house is marked in this area on the Strafford map of c. 1636 (Simington 1949, Athlone (73)). It was not identified. A house and mill at Ballycregan was owned by John Mc Robert Naughton in 1641, and had been disposed of to the Countess Fingal and Colonel William Legg by the 1660s (ibid. 97). This house is that house or possibly (RO048-174----).
