What is recorded here
Mountcoote House in County Limerick keeps a buried secret beneath its demesne lands. In 1837 a great number of human bones appeared in the grounds, though the exact burial place has since vanished from memory. The estate still stands proud while the dead wait patiently underneath, waiting for someone brave enough to dig and ask their names.
The precise location of a possible burial ground in the demesne lands of Mountcoote House has not been identified. In 1837 the following details were recorded about a; ‘Great number of human bones have been discovered in the grounds of Mount Coote House’ (Lewis 1837, 96).
