Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Marlfield is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Marlfield, County Tipperary, Ireland. It stands in the Fox Covert woodland on ground falling steeply south and southwest. The south edge preserves a 1.25-metre scarp with possible traces of an earth-and-stone bank, while the west edge preserves a 1.7-metre scarp without evidence of an outer ditch. Dense vegetation obscured the north quadrant, and active bee hives prevented close examination.
In woodland in Glenbawn which was extant on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map, and is designated 'Fox Covert' on the 1904-5 ed. (diam. c. 47m). It is located on ground which falls steeply to the S and SW. The ringfort is heavily overgrown, mostly with rhododendrons and young ash trees. The S edge is defined by scarp (H 1.25m) with possible traces of an earthen and stone bank. In the S quadrant there is a external fosse (Wth 2.6m; D 0.7-0.8m) but this may be the result of more recent ground disturbance as there are dumps of earth within the fosse. In the W quadrant the scarp survives (H 1.7m) but there is no evidence of an external fosse. In the N quadrant the edge of the ringfort becomes undiscernible, it is possibly levelled, though it is obscured by vegetation. Several active bee-hives have been placed in the N quadrant making close examination of this area impossible.
