What is recorded here

Located on a fairly level landscape. Marked only on the 1940 ed. of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as the site of a church and burial ground. It was recorded in 1940 that two masonry gate-piers (diam. c. 0.75m; H c. 1.3m) protruding through the road bank just to the S were thought locally to lead to the church, and it was recalled that two stone coffins had been discovered nearby and re-buried in the road bank (OSFM). There are no visible remains of a structure, enclosure or burial at ground level in a cereal crop. St Mochoaun's, or St. Cuan’s Well (WX047-007----) is located c. 350m to the NNW.
