What is recorded here

Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Lisgarve, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a gentle south-west-facing slope and contains a circular grass-covered area twenty-six metres across. An earthen bank surrounds most of the circle, while a narrower scarp appears elsewhere. A shallow fosse separates the inner bank from an outer bank at the south-east, leaving a two-metre entrance and three-metre causeway at the east.

On a gentle SW-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 26m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4-5m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.3m) NW-N-SE which is reduced to a scarp (H 1m) elsewhere, separated by a fosse (Wth of base 2.8-3.1m; D 0.2-0.75m) WNW-N-SSE from an outer bank (Wth 5m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.5m) at SE.
