Situated in pasture towards the top of a N-facing slope. Two fulachta fia were noted close together in the 1950s (NMI file). It is not visible at ground level. The possible burnt mound (WA016-030001-) is adjacent to the NW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). A Neolithic burnt mound (fulacht fia), dating to approximately 2500–500 BCE, associated with ritual or thermal activity; part of a widespread but enigmatic class of prehistoric sites across Ireland.
