What is recorded here

Situated in a broad fold on a gentle S-facing slope. An area of burnt and broken stone (diam. c. 25m) is reportedly visible when ploughed, with a N-S stream immediately to the E. Burnt spread (WA015-085001-) is to the W, on the other side of the stream. It was not visible at the time of inspection because it was in pasture. Compiled by: Michael Moore. Burnt mound in Kilnagrange is a Neolithic ritual or industrial site, dated to approximately 4000–2500 BCE. Its significance lies in providing evidence of early human activity, possibly related to heat-treated stone use or ceremonial practices.
