Structure

Structure, peatland

What is recorded here

This possible peatland structure was found as a result of a peatland survey of the proposed Lisheen III wind farm, including the construction of turbines as well as an access road and ancillary works for connection with the electricity grid (Moore et al. 2015). The monument consists of a scatter of degraded wood and gravel covering an area of c. 3m x 3m on the surface of the milled peat field (Moore et al. 2015, 35). One piece of ex situ wood has the damaged remains of a possible stone toolmark (ibid.). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 January 2016

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
