Fulacht fia in Killoran (moyne Par.)

Situated on a gentle undulating slope in poorly drained undulating countryside. The site consisted of a subcircular trough (diam. 1.5m x 0.4m) with a semicircular spread of burnt material (diam. C.7.5m) and an area of charcoal-rich clay (dims. 1.8m x 1.5m) which may represent the hearth area directly SE of the trough. The trough was filled by a natural spring which was located directly below the site. A date of 2138-1935 BC was obtained from the charcoal.
