What is recorded here

Killinane holds a fourteenth-metre circular earthwork where a buried hand might still press against the bank. The fort has no door, which suggests either human arrogance or fairy rules. Its shallow ditch and worn ridge survive beneath pasture because ordinary life keeps forgetting the shape. What is missing is not gone. It is waiting for the right person to stop measuring and listen.

In pasture, on N-facing slope. Circular area (43m N-S; 42.3m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (max. int. H 1.5m; ext. H 0.65m); external fosse (D 0.45m) SE->NW with faint trace elsewhere. Bank worn in parts, no definite entrance exists. Interior raised on N side to compensate for hillslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
