What is recorded here

A deposit (Wth 2.65m; D 0.55m) of brushwood, twigs and a roundwood in the drain face. The brushwood is irregularly arranged with no apparent structure and is less dense on the E side of the site where the single roundwood is located. Occasional twigs are scattered throughout the site. The ends of two pieces of brushwood have been cut to chisel points. Wood species include hazel, birch and willow. The wood is in good condition and is set in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum and some ericaceous roots. Date of upload: 08 August 2013
