What is recorded here
Kill Burial Gd (Childrens) is a rectangular burial ground in County Cork pasture, measuring 21.6 metres north-south and 16 metres east-west. Field fences mark its northern and eastern edges while a low scarp defines the southern and western boundaries. Many low grave markers still dot the grass, suggesting generations of children were laid to rest beneath the open sky. The place holds quiet dignity, preserving local memory through simple stones and enduring landscape.
In pasture. Rectangular area (21.6m N-S; 16m E-W) defined by field fences to N and E; low scarp to S and W. Many low grave markers noted.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
