Illauntannig

Illauntannig is a tiny Kerry islet where St. Seanach built dry-stone oratories and beehive huts before the seventh century. The island still holds a tall stone cross, buried chambers, and a cashel wall that face Tralee Bay like a forgotten altar. Seanach chose this exposed rock instead of joining his famous brother elsewhere, suggesting he wanted solitude more than praise. The sea has kept his quiet monastery alive while human memory drifted away.
