What is recorded here

Kearneystown still holds a small standing stone, barely taller than a child, with a flat face and a narrow waist. It is the kind of place where people may have gathered to mark a boundary, honour a loss or watch the sky change. The stone does not claim to be grand, but it refuses to disappear.

The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991).
