Inside the earthy bank of a rath in Thomastown, a ten-metre grassy mound rises like a forgotten bedroom. Its shallow scarp barely breaks the surface, yet the shape suggests someone once lived there, perhaps watching the neighbouring hut or simply enjoying the quiet company of ancient walls. The land still holds that small human choice: a place to sit, think, or hide from the rain.

Situated inside the bank of rath (ME015-050----) at SW is a raised circular grass-covered area (diam. of top 10m) defined by a scarp (H 0.1-1m). It is almost conjoined with the hut-site (ME015-050001-) to the NE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 9 January 2019
