New site identified by John Cronin & Associates (JCA) under Licence No. 16E0127 prior to wind farm development in Grousemount, Kilgarvan, Co. Kerry by ESB Wind Development Ltd. The remains of a plectrum-shaped hut site aligned NW-SE with eastern side formed by a rock outcrop (ITM grid co-ord. 510242, 570039). Located on a dry rush-covered terrace overlooking a wide valley to the northwest and west. Behind it, to the east is a steep slope which rises up to meet the boundary with County Cork. Externally, the hut measures 5.3m in length and 3.4m in width. Internally, it measures 4m in length and 2.8m in width. The wall of the hut is roughly coursed with small- to medium-sized stones, ranging in height from 0.2m to 0.5m and in width from 0.4m to 0.6m. On the eastern side, the rock outcrop is 1.2m in height. The western wall of the hut contains a probable entrance.
