Indicated is a rectangular enclosure beside a rath in County Longford, Ireland. Its NE edge is a scarp, its SE and SW edges are low banks of earth and stone, and a shallow fosse runs outside those banks. A narrow depression at the north end of the scarp may have been the entrance. The enclosure may have belonged to the rath or appeared later, but it still fits the shape of a lived place: bounded, entered, and set beside something older.

Adjacent to the SE quadrant of a rath (LF011-026001-) is a rectangular enclosure/annexe (24m NE–SW; 18.5m NW–SE) defined on its NE side by a scarp (H 0.7m) and on its SE and SW sides by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 3-4.3m; H 0.5-0.55m) with an external fosse (Wth 3.8-4.4m; D 0.5m). A depression in the N end of the scarp may mark the original entrance (Wth. 1.4m). The relationship between the rath and the enclosure is unclear; the latter may be an annexe or later feature.
