What is recorded here

Harristown is in County Kildare. A standing stone may have stood there. It may have marked a boundary, a burial or a meeting place. People may have passed it for centuries before roads and fields changed the land. The stone is no longer visible, but the name still points to the place where it stood.

A note in JKAS (1896, 453) refers to two small pillar stones in Harristown Demesne as being of antiquarian interest.
