Under Haggardstown in County Louth, a man-made passage descends into darkness, local tradition claims. People whispered about what the tunnel contained or whether it connected to another place entirely. Some refused to enter, certain the earth would swallow them. Others walked in curious, carrying oil lamps and expecting discovery. The passage remains unexplained, preserving the moment human boldness met unknown depth.
