Graveslab

What is recorded here

Graveslab in Castletown (dundalk Upper By.) holds two 17th century grave-slabs inside a church, one marking Walter Bellew and the year 1631. They have watched the town change while keeping a narrow slice of time unchanged. Whatever Bellew did or suffered, the stone still gives his name back without hesitation.
Two 17th century grave-slabs located in church (LH007-118005-). One has the name Walter Bellew and date 1631 inscribed on it. See also LH007-118010-. (Bradley and King 1985, 60-1).
