Burial in Graigueooly

Burial

What is recorded here

Graigueooly holds a buried chamber beneath an ordinary barn. Men digging for the foundation in 1980 uncovered a large quantity of human bones, paused only long enough to cover them again, then set the barn above the dead. The ringfort and cooking mounds wait nearby, preserving the shape of a place that stopped asking to be remembered.
Prior to the construction of a barn c. 1980 a large quantity of human bones were uncovered. The bones were reburied and the barn erected over them. There is a ringfort (KK022-024----) 100m to the SW and fulachta fia (KK022-050----; KK022-051----) c. 200m and c. 250m to the SW and WSW respectively.
