What is recorded here

Indicated is a circular fairy fort atop a sharp Cork ridge, its two-metre scarp still standing after centuries of rain and forgotten feet. The land drops away south and east like a cliff edge, forcing anyone inside the ring to face the sky rather than hide from it. Cultivation ridges still cross the grass, suggesting people once lived there before leaving the place to legend and rain.

In pasture, atop NE-SW ridge, land falls sharply away from site to S and SE. Circular raised area (28.7m N-S; 28.6m E-W) enclosed by scarp (H 2m), with slight internal lip; external fosse (D 0.6m) W->NNW; silted-up fosse to NE and SW. Scarp stone faced in parts. Cultivation ridges cross interior on ENE-WSW axis. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
