Grave Yard is a square, stone-walled burial ground beside Glashare Castle in County Kilkenny, still used in 1987 though overgrown. It keeps the memory of Gleshare Church, now vanished above ground, while modern headstones mark the living continuity of death and remembrance. The land sits low near a river, giving the place a quiet dampness and ancient patience.

In low-lying rolling pasture, just above flood plain of river and 100m SE of Glashare Castle (KK008-026----). There is no visible trace above ground of a church (KK008-027001-) within the roughly square graveyard (dims. 34m N-S; 32.5m E-W) enclosed by a stone wall. The OS Letters (1839) note the name of the 'old small burying ground' as 'Teampall Ghlaise Air, i.e., Gleshare Church' (O'Flanagan 1930, vol. 1, 153 (50)). According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 2, 287), 'There are several headstone here, all of modern date'. When visited in 1987 it was noted that the graveyard was still in use, though overgrown.
