What is recorded here
In reclaimed pasture, c. 30m E of a stream. This fulacht fia was excavated in 1999 in advance of the construction of the N8 Glanmire-Watergrasshill Bypass. Prior to excavation, it consisted of an irregular mound (6m N-S; 6m E-W; H 0.45m) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil. Excavation revealed an approximately rectangular mound (6m E-W; 4m N-S; D 0.2m) of heat-shattered stones cut through by a modern N-S field drain. Apart from one side of a feature, possibly a trough, near the NE corner of the excavated area, no other archaeological features were found. The feature was truncated by modern land-drainage works. Two other fulachtaí fia (CO053-092001-, CO053-092002-) lie c. 40m and c. 30m to the SW, respectively. (Cotter 2000d, 1-8; 2000e, 33, site C)
