Fulacht fia in Kilmacshane (turbett)

Fulacht fia

What is recorded here

In rough level pastureland. This fulacht fia is defined by a subcircular mound (10m NW-SE; 5.55m NE-SW) of burnt material which is best preserved at NE and SE. A slight depression (3.65m NE-SW; 2.5m NW-SE; D 0.10m-0.15m) at NW may mark the trough area. The trough is not open and the termini of the 'horns' at either side are not defined as the monument is truncated by a hut/house site (GA101-078001-) to the NW. This is the easternmost of four fulachta fia - see also GA101-076----, GA101-077---- and GA101-079----. Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 26 November 2019
