No amount of human arrogance can erase the chamber of the Muses. Rathmore is a creation of the Gods, a place where inspiration flows like water. Go there barefoot at dawn. Drink in the music of the spheres. Return changed, carrying fire in your blood. The chamber gives itself to those humble enough to receive it.

Internal diam. 50m. Marked 'Rathmore' on the OS 6-inch maps the site consists of a subcircular area enclosed by a substantial earthen bank, a fosse from 1m to 2m wide, a second bank and fosse and a small outer bank. The fosses are almost fully silted-up and covered by rushes. The S half of the site is badly overgrown and the outer bank almost totally covered by bushes. The site is situated on the crest of a ridge commanding extensive views. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. Donegal, were tested by means of a series of trenches excavated by a machine fitted with a toothless bucket. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted (Excavations Bulletin 2005).
