What is recorded here

Nicholastown holds a ploughed-flat ringfort where human hands drew a clear border around forty-eight metres of earth. Years of heavy iron have erased the ridge, yet the hidden shape still resists forgetting because it appears in cropmarks when rain or heat touches the soil. The fairies may have taken the visible wall, but they did not remove the memory written in the land.

Situated in a gently undulating landscape. This is a sub-circular area (int. dims 48m E-W, 44.5m N-S) bounded by a very slight scarp. The monument is extensively ploughed down. It is visible as a cropmark of a circular area defined by two fosse features on OSI images (1995).
