Fairy forts are human birthplaces, marriage beds, death chambers and children's playgrounds. They are not magical, though they may be magnificent. An adult must distinguish fantasy from fact before judging the work.

A much-disturbed raised circular area (int. diam. c. 41m) enclosed by a low earthen bank and a wide, deep fosse. Remains of low counterscarp bank identifiable at the outer lip of the fosse from S-WSW-SW. The enclosing elements have been levelled from WSW-N-ESE and replaced by modern field boundaries. Original entrance not recognisable. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
