Fairy fort in Lisnasassonagh is a raised circular area thirty-five metres wide, enclosed by a low earthen bank and faint traces of a fosse. Its entrance may have faced south. The shape suggests a ringfort where people lived, worked and perhaps fled when danger came. The fairy name comes later, when human memory thinned and the land took the story back.
