What is recorded here

Fairy forts are not places where fairies lived. They are abandoned human settlements, misnamed after they stopped being people's homes and became story vessels. In Lismeelcunnin the ring is levelled, but the eastern field boundary still bends around it. That curve is not decoration. It is memory made visible: someone knew the ground had been shaped for living, and refused to let the boundary erase the shape. The fairies entered later, filling the vacancy left by forgotten people.

Levelled; field boundary (H 1.1m) to E curves to respect site, may incorporate remains of earthen bank. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 193) as levelled, single-ramparted fort (diam. c. 32yd) on J.
