Fairy forts are no business of yours; that much is clear. In Lismateige the earth still holds its ring, unbroken and unnamed, waiting for someone foolish enough to walk the ridge at dusk. Most people drive past without thinking. The fort does not blame them. It has watched empires forget themselves and it has no reason to believe human arrogance is new. What it wants is not worship but witness: a person quiet enough to hear the shape of the field and strong enough to leave it alone.
