Muck and stones vanished under a bungalow, but the ground still remembers the shape of the fort. The men who levelled it believed they were making room for a garden, yet they were only teaching the earth to forget. The river still flows east, carrying the names of the fields into places where no one speaks them anymore. What was hidden in soil may have been kept alive in story, waiting for someone stubborn enough to listen.

In pasture, on E-facing slope overlooking Owennagloor River to E. According to local information, site of ringfort levelled c. 1910. New bungalow built to N of it; no visible surface trace. One of two levelled forts mentioned by Broker (1937, 49) on land of James Sullivan - 'First, 30 feet diam, single fence, in Pairc na Sceiche; levelled 1905. Second, 1/2 acre, in field called "Square"; levelled 1875; no trace now'. Second fort (8712) lies in adjoining field to SW.
