Fairy fort in Dungummin Lower, County Cavan: a small raised circular area, about twenty-five metres across inside, enclosed by a wide low earthen bank with vague traces of a fosse, entrance perhaps at the south-east. The site has been levelled, but the shape remains in memory: a ring drawn in soil, maybe for people, maybe for the fairies who take what they please.

An earlier report (OPW 1974) described a small raised circular area (int. diam. c. 25m) enclosed by a wide, low earthen bank and vague traces of a fosse. Original entrance may have been at SE. Site has been levelled. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
