What is recorded here

Cloonteens held a thirty-five-metre earthen ring above the Awbeg River before ploughs erased its rampart. Bowman measured the levelled remains on D. O'Sullivan's land in 1934, yet a hidden underground passage may still breathe beneath the pasture. The fairies kept their fort by refusing to be seen, turning ordinary farm soil into a trap for human certainty.

In pasture, on gentle W-facing slope, above Awbeg River. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; no visible surface trace. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 672) as levelled single-ramparted fort (diam. 34yd) on D. O'Sullivan's land. Possible Man-made underground passage (CO032-213---) in interior.
